About Cass
Cass grew up in a small border town in southwestern Ontario. She attended the University of Windsor for 2 years (for Anthropology/History) before deciding on a change in career goals, next earning her diploma from Georgian College in 2009. In 2012 she met her husband Jeff, and not long after, they expanded their family, having a daughter. Jeff became employed as a train conductor, which allowed Cass to stay at home with their daughter, yet required them to relocate to Edmonton, where they lived for four years, before buying their first home in 2016, in small-town Sturgeon County, along the Sturgeon River. Cass campaigned as the Green Party of Alberta candidate for Morinville-St. Albert during the 2019 Alberta Elections, after becoming frustrated with the lack of Green representation in her riding, and throughout the province. She then campaigned federally as the Green Party of Canada candidate for Sturgeon River-Parkland during the 2019 Federal Election. 2019 was the year her enthusiasm for politics and activism was demonstrated, confirming that her career in politics is only beginning... Cass was elected President of the Executive Council of the Green Party of Alberta in November, 2019, encouraging fellow Alberta Greens that when we all work together, we can bring about change in a quick and efficient manner.
Cass and her family have since relocated to British Columbia, in a small rural village along the Thompson River. She is extremely passionate about the environment, human/ animal rights, and politics. She enjoys activism, photography and running the trails with her dog, and enjoys spending as much time volunteering at her daughter’s school as she can. And although she is currently taking a break from politics, she acknowledges one can never 'take a break' from activism.
